This treatment can leave purple marks on the skin which may last several days after treatment
Moxibustion is an ancient form of treatment within Traditional Chinese medicine , in which the burning of the herb Artemisia (Chinese Mugwort Aiye) is burned close to the skin surface to treat and prevent disease. This is a very pleasant preventative and restorative treatment. It adds Yang Qi (Heat) to the body. It produces an infrared heat which has been clinically shown to have profound therapeutic effects on the body. The patient is actively part of this treatment to achieve optimum results.
Dr. Chen Rixen is one of the most respected doctors and researchers in China, and is the innovator and founder of Heat Sensitive Moxibustion system. It is a self sustained treatment method within Traditional Chinese medicine, which has its own unique theories. The "system" has its own unique moxa points and moxa point detection methods. It is a powerful treatment for disease prevention and overall health.
A traditional Chinese healing method which uses a smooth edged tool to stroke the skin while applying pressure. This motion raises small red dots that show under the skin called Petechiae.
Gua Sha is usually used to increase blood flow to the area, and promote healing. It can treat chronic pain all over the body, and relieve tight muscles. The pressure of the strokes starts out gentle ,and gradually more pressure is applied to the strokes. The pressure applied is only as much as is comfortable for the patient.
Gua Sha is usually used on the back, neck, buttocks, arms or legs.
